|
|
Hi,
Wondering if anyone knows a simple way to redirect a running X app from the bound display to the one used by an SSH tunnel?
Example: Home PC running Mozilla + download manager. I ssh in from work, and rather than kill the running mozilla and restart it (which would kill the active download) I want mozilla displayed on the work X server instead.
Thanks,

I thing you need vnc. Try tightvnc (If you use KDE, then run share remote desktop). If I remember correclty the connection is secure, like ssh. |

What you want to do isn't really possible yet. While you can redirect X apps with ssh forewarding, you can't disconnect them from their display and reconnect them to another display.
Screen does what you want, but only for console apps. Perhaps you should take a look at that and use links or something. I have a feeling that's as close as you're going to get to the solution you want. |
