Updated to Xorg-X11 6.7.0 and generally it works fine. Same or better 3D acceleration and no issues with fonts.

But there is one thing that bothers me. Acrobat Reader takes forever to start up and browsing big docs is very choppy. Have not noticed anything like this with any other app which puzzles me even more. First thought it might be some fonts that was missing but I cannot see any visible difference from before (could be wrong here, did not really look that closely on how it looked before upgrading)

I have tried to unmerge and re-emerge acrobat reader but it made no difference.

No help from in stdout or stderr.

Not sure what information to take out. But can see in the start script that it is hanging for a long time executing

/opt/Acrobat5/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread

Anyone seen this ? Any solution ?

Forgot to mention that the CPU goes to 100% during the startup

The problem was rather silly.

For some reason. Not sure if I've done this myself or if it was done by the ebuild there was links from /usr/share/fonts/util back to /usr/share/fonts which caused eternal loops. This off course caused acroread to stall when it scans for fonts in the startup.

After moving the all faulty font links from the /usr/share/fonts/util directory it works again.

When running fc-cache the problem is fairly obvious
