I know this has been mentioned on two previous posts. One was a passing comment that went unanswered, one was answered but no success story told.

Regardless, I am having a bear of a time with horizontally orienting my bbpager thingy in a fluxbox slit. There are configuration files in /usr/share/bbtools folder called bbpager.nobb (global config) and bbpager.bb. I have even made my very own ~/.bbtools/bbpager.bb. There are two specific lines that surely must be the crux of this issue. The columns and rows. If they are set at 1 each, I have a pager 1x4 vertically in the slit. If I set them 1 and 4 (or even 4 and 1) I have a 1x4 vertically in the slit. If I change my .xinitrc file to "bbpager -c ~/.bbtools/bbpager.bb -w" I have a 1x4 vertical pager in the slit (likewise without the -c) regardless of those numbers.

Basically what I am tring to say is that no matter what I do I have a 1x4 vertical pager in the slit. All I really need is a 1x4 horizontal pager in the slit. ;)

Anywho -- insight on the slit and the pager would be gratly appreciated.

Regards,

Jeff

I actually encountered this recently too. I had it properly oriented before, and I can't remember how I did it.

If you're running fluxbox, I think you should use the bbpager.nobb file instead. The .bb means "blackbox", and the .nobb "no blackbox". Also check you've removed the ! from the start of the bbpager.columns and bbpager.rows lines. If you don't, it treats the line as a comment. If you switch to the .nobb config file and set columns to 4 and rows to 1 it should work, I just tried it.

A more flexible way to have this is to comment the columns line, uncomment the rows line and set rows to 1, this way bbpager grows horizontally as you add new workspaces instead of staying with only 4 workspaces.
Also, I think that if you use fluxbox, it's better to use bbpager.bb and 'ln -s ~/.fluxbox/init ~/.blackboxrc' so the pager has the same style as fluxbox.
