Why are KDE 3.2.2 and Koffice 1.3.1 still masked?
Thanks,

Yep, I'm also wondering why kde 3.2.2 is still masked (isn't it out over 1 month now?).
No offense, but I really would like to know what's going on behind the scene. If there is another gentoo-ish way to find this out, please give me a pointer to it. I tried the Changelog files, but they don't give much information. |

This is also what I am trying to find out by searching the forum.
So far this is the only thread I have found, if anyone knows a thread containing an explanation please post it here.. |

Well, just visit and use https://forums.gentoo.org/search.php,
Code: | Search: "KDE 3.2.2" in
Forums: "Desktop Environments" ;
then, upon the (admitteldly long :o) resulting list of topics,
exploit your Browser's capabilities and let him search for "3.2.2" again, | to easily find the 3rd matching thread kde 3.2.2 is out
at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=163313.
The number of pages (now 6 in this thread), replies (over 140) and views (around 10.000 in this relatively short time) indicates you have found the discussion list you asked for. The early posts explain the problems, the last ones give you an impression of what remains ...
Unfortunately, there is no condensed compilation of the current status provided yet. Feel invited !
Kind regards

Well, actually I did read the thread. I've also noticed that Caleb did not post into this thread for 14 days now. And that's exactly the reason why I'm asking here.
Again: No offense, I'm just asking for some information about the problems. I'm not using kde 3.2.2 currently, because I guess there is a good reason why it is not unmasked yet and I would like to know this reason. That's all.
And I think that gentoo could think about a better way to document the progress of those ebuilds. There should be an easier way for the ebuild devs and user to inform about the status of an ebuild. This would make their life easier I guess. |
