Is it possible to use ALSA and OSS at the same time?
I need OSS to be able to hear sound in game with winex3 (wine alsa driver not working anymore with newer versions of alsa anyway ... + aoss wrapper doesn't work with winex3)
But I would like to use ALSA for everything else (mplayer, xmms, etc... )
Can I do this? Or maybe I should go with OSS over ALSA even if OSS is deprecated?
By the way, I am using kernel 2.6.6
Thanks! |

Just make sure you enable alsa OSS emulation in the kernel. You should then be able to connect to the regular OSS sound devices as if you were running those original drivers. The device nodes do have to be there though. Check the kernel documentation for it. _________________ "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
