XFree Config / X Server Probs

Hi all,

first to say, im not new on linux, but im new in using /kompile /configure my own x server.

i still got a problem with my X Server.

i think i install all right, wuit not very difficult with emerge....

then i start XF86config

typing in my mouse (MouseMan from Logitech), my Keyboard (Internet Keyboard from Logitech) Information about my VidedCard (RivaTNT2) and my Monitor (AOC GLR7).

All is fine, mouse is connectet to PS/2 Port, there is a link /dev/mouse -> /dev/psaux.

Then i type in "startx" Server come up -> wohaa ! But, freezing. My Hole System is Killed only hardware reset bring it back.

There are no error messages, nothing and that is very frustrading.

Maybe someone of you can point me into the right direction so i can start using my linux box for desktop work !

i figured out, that it might be my mouse, cause i try to run gpm an this also hangs my hole system ....

maybe someone can help me i got the Intelimouse MousMan Optical Wireless connectet via Belkin E Serie - KVM.
