How do I set up for gaming

How con i setup my computer for gaming with gentoo and with outdated hardware?

I specfically would like to play first person shooters (eg cs) with no draw backs.

Hardware:

1GHZ AMD Athlon
Gigabyte motherboard
512mb SD RAM
120gig HD
TNT2 Nvidia gfx

Um, well, CS... that's for windows right? (/me doesn't consider wine viable)

I guess you just install gentoo with all drivers and emerge ET.

Ah, well I wanted to make sure you didn't think CS was a linux game.

When you say setup what do you mean? So long as you've got all of your hardware up and running i'd say your set.

follow that to get your graphics driver working. after that, add yourself to the games group and install a game
