broke gnome can i go back??

right i emerged gnome 2.6.1

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -uD gnome

but it wont install gnome desktop2.6.1 fails some error in the code

but now i am left without gnome (doesn't work properly nor does GDM)

what switch do i need to put into emerge to go back to the old version 2.4 ? or do i have to wait until 2.6 is stable and unmasked ??

if you emerge gnome again, then it should go back to the older versions.

even and emerge world will take you back.

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge foo only unmasks foo for that one command.
