|
|
Ok, I've been on this of almost three weeks now. Has anyone ever experienced a blank screen using the mythfrontend to watch livetv? I ran the following code from the MythTV setup guide:
Code: |
test_ioctl -u 0x3000
test_ioctl -p 4
test_ioctl -f width=720,height=480
test_ioctl -v input=3,output=1
|
I then run:
Code: |
# cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg
|
The test works great. I get great video and sound, however, as soon as I use mythfrontend the fun is over.
Here's my machine specs
Pentium 4 2.4
1GB RAM
ATI 9800 Pro (128MB)
PVR-350 for capture
240 GB IDE RAID 5 disk (4 80GB drives)
kernel 2.4.25
As I mentioned above, the IVTV drivers seem to be functioning correctly. I'm out of ideas.
Thanks,

Does it work with other programs ? Tried this yet ?
So we could just see whether it is a myth problem, or a hardware/configuration problem... |

Everything I read tells me that you can only watch live tv with MythTV if you're using a PVR-350. As a result, I have not tested it with any other applications. Wait... I did try tvtime. No luck.
Thanks,

Thank you, this is similar to the howto I have for mythtv which is geared more toward a 2.6 kernel. I will read through the doc and perform any steps I missed. One of the things I did notice, the kraxel patch is mentioned in almost every doc I read. I have tried to patch my 2.4.25-r2 kernel without much luck. The only patch I could find was: patch-2.4.25-rc1-kraxel.gz
When I try to patch I get the following:
Code: | media7 src #gunzip -c patch-2.4.25-rc1-kraxel.gz | patch -p1 --dry-run
can't find file to patch at input line 3
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|--- linux-2.4.25-rc1/arch/x86_64/boot/install.sh 2004-02-06 10:10:38.697206501 +0100
|+++ linux/arch/x86_64/boot/install.sh 2004-02-06 10:41:30.160422844 +0100
--------------------------
File to patch:
|
Any Ideas?
