Hi i'm really really new to this. This is my first time and i'm having difficuilty

I go to boot the CD and it says loading Stage 2 and then it just starts booting my OS what am i doing wrong ? i thought i did everything correct on the installation guide but apparently i'm doing something wrong.

when you boot the liveCD it starts windows??

check the MD5sum of the ISO you burned. Also, make sure you finilize the CD

umm i am using the Amd Package that is Universal not the Live one...

If you mean you got the package CD, it's not bootable. It just contains precompiled packages.

Get a LiveCD If it's an Athlon 64, get an AMD64 livecd. If it's just a normal, get a x86 LiveCD.

you need to boot from the live cd. then unmount the cdrom like this:

umount /mnt/cdrom

i'm not sure if the live cd will allow you this. if it does replace the cd with the amd packages one and remount the drive with:

mount /mnt/cdrom

if it doesn't let you unmount you need to copy the packages of the amd cd to a partition on your harddrive and mount that one.

Well, what would help is if you read the install handbook before beginning the install :wink: That way you will get a good idea of how the install process works and when installing where you are in the install.
