|
|
Hello,
Maybe it is just that I am tired, but I fail to find any ADA compiler in the portage tree. I looked at all the packages of the /dev-ada/ directory but all of them seem to be bindings of libraries.
Is there an ADA compiler in the portage tree ?
Regards,

Compilation of ADA stuff in GCC is disabled in the sys-devel/gcc ebuild. You'll have to edit the ebuild and reemerge gcc. |

I know that you can find the gnat compiler somewhere in portage, maybe it's just a matter of 'emerge gnat'. As I'm currently not at my gentoo-station at home I can't tell you the exact ebuild name. _________________

Yeah . . . it would be just like the tv show. Except somebody would be watching. |

In fact, I prefer the second solution... Emerging gnat will be less cumbersome than gcc. Plus not all ebuilds for gcc can be modified in a simple way to allow ada: most of them do not contain a commented line about ADA and none of these support my architecture.
So I will go for gnat.
