Hello;

Probably a stupid question ( NooB ) . Does somebody knows how to make a hardlink of the home directory on a different HD. I installed Gentoo on a little HD and want to use the other HD to put some directory's ( home, var,etc,.. ) I mounted the other HD on a map , but next??

Greetz

Hello;

I installed linux on a little HD (2G) and I wan't to install software, so I wanted to hardlink it to another drive and mv everything from the original map ( also I wanted to use ccache )

If it can't be done, is there an alternative??

Greetz and thanks in advance

Use soft links and RTFM :wink:
You can also do this
    From my /etc/fstab

    /dev/hda1 /boot ext2 noauto,defaults 1 1
    /dev/hda3 / ext3 defaults 0 2
    /dev/hda2 none swap sw 0 0
    /dev/hda5 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
    /dev/hda6 /room ext3 defaults 0 2
    /dev/hda7 /home/hielvc/gentoo ext3 defaults 0 0
    /dev/hda8 /home/cifs reiserfs notail,defaults 0 2
    /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro,users 0 0
    /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy vfat noauto,users,rw 0 0

IN other words its the same as when you installed Gentoo, make a dir and mount a partion on it.
