Hi
Installiere grad auf einem Asus A7V mit Promise Controller Gentoo neben XP Pro.
/dev/hdc ist gentoo, hängt am normalen IDE /dev/hde1 ist Win XP-hängt am Promise. Ich habe den PromiseController mit in den Kernel kompiliert - alles läuft. Nur XP bootet nicht über lilo- schwarzer Bildschirm obwohl die Windows Partition richtig angegeben ist, kann sie auch darüber mounten.
Eintrag in der lilo.conf ist bloß other=/dev/hde1 label = XP
Hat da jemand eine Idee?

Das Problem hatte ich auch. Windows bootet nur wenn es denkt das es auf der ersten Platte ein deinem System installiert ist. Frag mich nicht warum es das will aber es ist so. Keine Ahnung wie du das mit lilo regeln kannst, aber mit grub kannst du Windows vorspielen das es auf der ersten Platte des Systems installiert ist. Mein Eintrag bei grub sieht so aus

title Windows XP
map (hd0) (hd2)
map (hd2) (hd0)
root (hd2,0)
chainloader +1

Damit vertausche ich die erste Platte des Systems mit der dritten. Wundersamerweise bootet Windows dann wieder.
Also am besten googel ob du soetwa sauch mit lilo machen kannst oder grub installieren oder Windows auf der ersten Platte installieren.
