It seems that I cant get my disk to speed up!
When I do a:hdparm -tT /dev/hda
Code: | /dev/hda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 2108 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1054.16 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 8 MB in 3.08 seconds = 2.59 MB/sec
|
After I do a: hdparm -c1 -d1 /dev/hda
Code: | /dev/hda:
setting 32-bit IO_support flag to 1
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
using_dma = 0 (off)
|
Why dose the dma show (off)?
Then Ill test it again, this is what happend :
Code: | /dev/hda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 2180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1089.62 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 14 MB in 3.28 seconds = 4.27 MB/sec
|
Not impressive! right?
Have I forget something in my kernel or cant I get more speed from my disk? This is the data from my disk:
Code: | /dev/hda:
