Hi Chaps,
I've just upgraded to 2.6.5 kernel, and I'm having problems getting sound to work.
All the modules appear to be loaded, & I emerged alsa-lib & alsa-utils (the alsa-drivers part coming from the kernel build)
lsmod shows
Quote: | snd_emu10k1 90628 0
snd_rawmidi 19680 1 snd_emu10k1
snd_pcm 82760 1 snd_emu10k1
snd_timer 20612 1 snd_pcm
snd_seq_device 6536 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi
snd_ac97_codec 60868 1 snd_emu10k1
snd_page_alloc 8964 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_pcm
snd_util_mem 3264 1 snd_emu10k1
snd_hwdep 7108 1 snd_emu10k1
snd 44772 8 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_seq_device,snd_ac97_codec,snd_util_mem,snd_hwdep |
and /dev/dsp is set up in /etc/modules.d/alsa and the correct driver is set up in there (snd-emu10k1)
Any ideas? |

When you configured the kernel, did you have:
Code: | Device Drivers -->
Sound -->
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture -->
[ ] OSS PCM (digital audio) API |
enabled? I usually end up forgetting that _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |
