I'm trying to setup a Fastrate 100 usb (aka BeWan aka Unicorn) on a friend of mine's PC but... well I compiled the drivers, then modprobed 'em and the kernel went down with a BOOM. Never seen a kernel go down because of a module. Well anyway I just can't find any other drivers on the net and I'm clueless about what went wrong. It's not like I used aggressive optimizations or anything and the modem's reported to work under linux. If anyone's got this white piece of crap and knows how to set it up properly, please tell me.
Kernel: 2.4.25-gentoo-r2
Drivers: bapst-0.8.7.tgz
I'm 100% sure that usb is up and working but of course the kernel may be not configured the right way. I can't post the kernel configuration so please just tell me what I've got to enable. I didn't make stupid errors like leaving out pppoa related options but, oh well who knows.
Thanks!
PS. this is a double post. The other one's in the "italian" forum since this modem's given to Italy's Telecom customers. _________________ It isn't enough to win - everyone else must lose, and you also have to rub it in their face (maybe chop off an arm too for good measure).
