|
|
Hello all,
I would like my computer (a P3 desktop) to shut off automatically after I issue the shutdown command. Right now, it goes through the normal shut down sequence and then prints "Power Down" or something like that and then waits for me to shut off the machine. I compiled APM support into the kernel (2.4.25) but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure where to go from here...any ideas? |

you might also want to try compiling acpi in as well. That fixed it for me on my laptop _________________ Adapt a post today!!! |

Im now sure that this will work but you can give it at try.....
install apmd and start it.
Or as longinoa says.
Recompile your kernel and go with ACPI.... _________________ Geek By Nature | Linux By Choise |

try selecting "use real acpi calls to power off" in your kernel configuration. As the help explains, this fixes a number of buggy biosses. You can also try a bios update _________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. |
