Hello,

I am having problems with hotplug not loading the module for my scsi card during bootup.

My hardware is as follows :
Adaptec 2940 U2W card ( aic7xxx driver )

The drive setup is :
sda1 = /boot
sda3 = /

Running gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.5-r1

When i boot up, hotplug loads every module I need except the ATI driver and the SCSI card. The bootup sequence stops with a message asking me to define the root at which i type shell and type modprobe aic7xxx and after i exit, i define /dev/discs/disc0/part3 and i can boot up normally.

My question is : Shouldnt hotplug load the module from the initrd since the module exists there ?

Any way I can fix this ?

Thanks

Pramod
