Hi guys
I have a little problem compiling gnome-icon-theme 1.2.1.......
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking gnome-icon-theme-1.2.1.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/gnome-icon-theme-1.2.1/work
>>> Source unpacked.
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-strip... no
checking for strip... strip
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) x11-themes/gnome-icon-theme-1.2.1 to /
>>> md5 src_uri gnome-icon-theme-1.2.1.tar.bz2
configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
The configure-script says, that I need XML::Parser perl module
which is still installed!!!!!!!!! (geemergt)
How can I solved this damned problem??
Do I need version 1.2.1 for gnome 2.6.1?

I had teh same error here, I was moving from "x86" to "~x86" when I got the error. First thinkg I thought was a linking error so I ran revdep-rebuild which fould PDL was still linking to my old perl install. that didnt fix it though. ended up having to emerge dev-perl/XML-Parser to fix the problem. |

yep, you were right for dev-perl/XML-Parser.
By the way, where did you find out the tool revdep-rebuild ?
I've read all the docs about portage from the gentoo website and I read nothing about this command. |

revdep-rebuild is part of the gentoolkit package. |
