Hi,
Im trying to setup a simple smtp server but I ran into a little trouble...Turns out my ISP just started blocking outgoing connections from port 25. Nevermind being able to receive messages from other servers now I cant even send out messages unless I can find a way around this. Does anyone know of any good smtp proxy servers that I can connect to from an odd port then have the proxy connect to normal smtp servers on port 25? Or even better, is there any kinda free redirection services like dyndns.org that can forward a incoming data to my ip address but be able to forward to ackword ports (ex. have a server accept a connection form port 25 and relay it to mine on a different port...).

Contact your ISP and request they allow outbout 25/TCP from your IP address. If you're legitimately trying to do this (i.e. if you're not a spammer), they'll do it.

Would they do it if against the TOS to run servers even though this would just be a private server I wouldnt be doing anything like charging people to use any kind of service.

If it's against the terms of service then I for one am not going to help you, sorry. Get another ISP if that's not acceptable. This isn't the place to ask for something that's in violation of a contract you've signed.

Configure your MTA to forward your outgoing mail through your ISP's MTA. For instance in my postfix main.cf I have,

relayhost = smtp.comcast.net

Even if you could send mail from your server, you would run into problems sending mail to any MTA (such as mine) that blocks incoming mail using dial-in RTBL lists like njabl.org.
