Locks up after "Setting the hardware clock to system ti

I'm trying to install Gentoo on a Dell Webpc. It starts up fine but locks after trying to set "the hardware clock to the system time". It doesn't follow with an [ok]

Thoughts?

Could it be a BIOS problem ?

try to booting with livecd after mount and chroot after check you /etc/rc.conf
