I'm looking for a capture card (not tv card, although a capture card that also has a tv tuner is also welcomed) to run on my gentoo. Right now I have a capture card on my nvidia graphics card and that didnt went well at all, because 1) the capture drivers (rivatv) does not work with p4 and nvidia display driver together. 2) rivatv will not working with any frame buffers running (which I do, because of bootsplash).
So what do you suggest? I want a capture card that works for sure, without the above restraints. Thanks |

Just have a look at LinVDR, this project is for multimedia-tv-boxes with linux.
Because of their target-hardware, there you can find a lot of info concerning the different grabbers and their pros and cons. |
