Speedtouch usb (*again*) this time /dev/pts/ problems

Im new to linux and i am trying to get my speedtouch usb modem working...

Ive looked around, couldnt see anyhing that matched my problem, here it is:

When i run pppd call adsl, i can see ppp0 using ifconfig ppp0/1/2..., but the problem is that it never gets an ip etc, and eventually just disapears. I ran it with logging on and it said this in the log:

^^ i got the above from a site on how to connect to btopenworld, it times out relitivly quickly, if i use the default one, it just goes on and on, asking each device in /dev/pts 10 times isntead of once. Example:

For my kernel, i have USB enabled like it says, and n_hldc enabled as a module. I also have enabled ppp so it is within the kernel and not as a module, as it seems when i check to to be a module and i do modprobe ppp it says it cant find it, and pppd says its not in the kernel.

i would be greatful for any help as ive been at this for days :x [/code]
