|
|
I was able to get iTunes running under the latest Crossover Office by copying the iTunes folder from a windows computer (the installer still does not work). About half of iTunes actually works. It looks perfect under wine, and both visualizations and the mini version work. Hopefully, with a little work, we can get it running under Linux.
I'm working on this because I would like to see Apple port it to Linux, even if it's not my player of choice. (I'm a muine fan...)
I'll post screenshots, as well as instructions for getting it working shortly. Also, if anyone would be able to host a bzip2 file of the iTunes folder and applicable dll's, please get back to me. I know not everyone has access to a computer with Windows, so I would like to have the program up for those who wish to install it.

yeah, running iTunes under Linux would be cool, especially as the music store today opened its doors for Europe. |

With the current 4.1 release, it works straight from the codeweaver installer.
It will install quicktime automatically.
No copying files manually needed.
The only reason I used iTunes was for the streaming radio stations. Now that Amarok handles that, the only use for iTunes under Crossover Office is for the store features. |

Headrush, are the store feautres fully functioning? Do you buy audio books from audible.com? This is holding me off from getting an iPod mini and subscribing to audible.com. They're running a $100 bucks rebate program right now. |
