I want to resize my windows partition to make more room for linux.
My partition table looks like this
hda1 70g win 2000
hda2 50mb
hda3 700mb
hda 4 which is my home dir is 21g

How would I go about this any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could use Partition Magic which is very good but commercial (so it will cost you).
You could use Partition Resizer

It includes all the stuff you'd need for resizing partitions.

Also you could just use knoppix instead. It includes all the neccessary resizing crap plus you can use it to do the entire install.

I highly recommend the system rescue cd linked above. Burn a couple, keep them near . . . they've saved many a box (windows and unix) for me.
