Ok,
I was wondering is it possible to use such a program as httptunnel to tunnel past a firewall that does not allow access to irc servers?
Would it require that a httptunnel server being setting up on a remote computer outside the firewall, and then relaying my httptunnel client requests to that server to the irc server?
Or is there another way? |

The best way to connect to an IRC server when a firewall isn't allowing it is to just set up CGI:IRC on a webserver, and use that to connect. |

Just for future reference, tunnelling always requires another system outside the offending firewall's scope. It is never possible to spontaneously create open ports or to globally inform every server in the world that you're using non-standard ports. |
