Hi,
I am new to gentoo and have a couple of questions:-)
I have got installed the reiser4 gentoo livecd and the love-sources-2.6.6r4.
(1)How do I setup the load shell while loading the kernel to display a better resolution than 25 lines with possibly a graphic background like the gentoo install CD?
(2)I have emeged the hotplug but it doesnt seem to load and work on startup,
(3)Also is it possible to display a progress bar like the fancy one on the live cd when detecting hardware?
Any help much appreciated

1) Well I have the Reiser4 Livecd too and the resolution is already 1024x768 by default.
2) Can you please write down the exact error message you get when it fails at boot ?
3) Yep thats possible (everything is possible with linux you just need to know how ) Check this link here:

Thanks,
(1)It is not starting at 1024x768 on start it is a much lower resolution, I have grub installed and it boots to 1280x1024 but soon as I select it goes to the lower resolution.
(2)It is hard for me to see with the problem above but as far as I can tell its not even running the hotplug????
(3)Thanks I'll take a look???
Thanks

add "vga=792" to the end og the root= line in your grub.conf. replace 792 with the code for your desired resolution. Make certain that you have FB console support in your kernel.
Thank you for your time,
