|
|
Ok, there is a konica Photocopier connected to the network in our building and I have been tryuing to print to the damned thing forever. I have the IP address but i cannot find any Konica drivers when I try to install the printer in the cups admin page. When i use the RAW driver and print directly to port 9100 on the copier it gets the page but just spits out goo like when you send a postcript file to a non postscript printer or something.
Any help yould be great,
Thanx. _________________ If your life was a book, would anyone want to read it? |

I have sevaral Savin copiers at my office, and I have them printing just dandy by using the HP LaserJet drivers provided by cups. Maybe that will work with the Konica copiers as well. |

Okay, I got it figured out. It's actually quite easy. Just install and configure cups like normal + foomatic. Then go the the webinterace (localhost:631) and add printer and select:
Device: AppSocket/HPJetDirect
Device URI: socket://printerIPaddress:9100
Make: Generic
Model: Generic PCL 6/PCL XL Printer Foomatic/ljet4(en)
After adding the printer you might have to go to configure and select 600 resolution. One computer got that just fine but another had 75 dpi by default. |
