Hello folks. I was wondering after doing a Stage3 install of Gentoo 2004.1 using the Gentoo Source kernel configured by the Genkernel script caused any problems on a the first, second and third booting of the system. Problems like random restarting after the system is booted and sitting at the login prompt, or after logging in the system will randomly restart.
Now I know that my hardware is fine because I nuked Mandrake, and it was running fine, and Windows just loves my system, but if you must know this is my hardware configuration, maybe Gentoo just hates me.

You know this is just speculation now from personal experience. When I installed gentoo on my 1.4ghz box windows loved it! But as I put on gentoo it usto constantly die for no aparent reason I later learned I had a bad powersupply that would go beserk if too much power was drawn... It could be that Gentoo is requesting too much power and its just restarting it by way of running out of watts. Just a thought. _________________ Cheers, SlicerDicer
