Hey,
Ive got a problem with gnome, after trying to emerge xorg, everything went worng...
When I start gnome a get a error message saying "Gnome Session Deamon could not start. Things like themes, backgrounds and sounds might not work."
The only thing that does'nt work is themes. I have no icons in nautilus or on the desktop.
The error message also says that there where no spsefic error message!
I tryed to emerge nautilus and some gnomelibs, but nothing solvs the problem.
Have anyone had this problem before?? |

I am also having some trouble.
I have been running 2.6 for a while now (latest 2.6...).
Today I got to work, booted my PC, and when I tried to startx, gnome just hung with a black screen. My Licq loaded, but that was all. No errors in the logs, and gnome-session was running. To get up and running I had to startx with kde....Shudder...
Any suggestions would be appreciated. _________________ Computin' Since '89 |

You seem to have the same problem that I have. Can this be a bug? |

Same problem here. Have yet to find a way to solve it. Anyone managed to fix this? _________________ "Does anybody know my name?" -me after a wild night |

This happened to me also when I updated to gnome 2.6, though I have no idea why. All I remember was starting gnome-settings-daemon manually, logging out, and logging back in and it worked.
It's no longer in the path, so start it with Code: | /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon |
