hi,
can you also reproduce this problem?
you need gnome-2.6 (or gnome-2.6.1)..
start a gnome-terminal, maximize it...set it to transparent..
issue a 'time ls -l /usr/lib' in the terminal
the duration of the command will be written to the console at the end
repeat that command 3-4 times, so now the duration should become somewhat constant ...
now start mozilla (or epiphany or mozilla-firefox)..
maximize it,
and launch this url:
http://api.openoffice.org/docs/DevelopersGuide/FirstSteps/FirstSteps.htm
scroll it a little up & down..
now alt-tab back to the gnome-terminal window,
and do the "ls -l /usr/lib" thing 3-4 times..
on my computer, the duration increases A LOT.. (like 4times or so)..
did gnome-term become slower for you too?
(if yes, please write here also your graphics card, xfree version and what driver do you use for the graphics card)
