If I create a partition using mkfs.reiserfs, then copy a large tar ball to the drive and untar/ungzip it, it causes some errors and I the partition is no longer readable and there is no data on it anymore.

Creating the partition using mkreiserfs however, seems to be fine.

My drive is a SATA drive by the way.
