Anyone have experience with Iwill DK8X?

Hi all,

I'm building a dual Opteron 246 workstation and after a fair bit of research am really considering the Iwill DK8X. Even though I know the DK8N is just round the corner, who knows what new problems may emerge from that for Linux users?

For those who have, or use an Iwill DK8X motherboard, what are things like AGP wise? I've heard the AMD-8151 chipset has some pretty good support in the 2.6 kernels with nVidia cards.

I'm going to go with an nVidia FX 5900 Ultra 256 video card. Will it run well at AGP 8x with a 2.6 kernel? Will I have 3D functionality at all?

Any feedback appreciated.

I hate to say it, but about the only major problem I have with my system is with the nvidia graphics, particularily with the 3D accelleration. Unfortunatley this seems to be a problem that everyone has with the nvidia drivers.

The only other problem I have with my system is configuring lm_sensors. I have been unable to find a sensors.conf file anywhere, and the automatic configuration utility just doesn't seem to work.

Other than this I have been very happy with my system.

Apparently 5332 for AMD64 doesn't support a 2.6 kernel, but there may be a fix someone's made. If you decide to try it out, please let me know how you get on. If this is successful, my mind will be made up
