Hi all,

I've been using epiphany by I'm getting sick of its simplicity. Need a not very heavy browser with some nice eyecandy and nice features. Which browser do you use? Why?

Cheers,

Konqueror all the way! Because it's simple, and it works. It also doubles as a file browser. In short, it rocks.

Where is Opera from the voting list??? While it is not free it is definitely worth the purchase in my opinion.

I refuse to vote in this poll because it's too heavily gecko biased. :P

I use konqueror most of the time, because it's fast at both startup and rendering. And having a spell checker when posting is very nice. I use firefox for a few sites that don't work correctly in konq.

Firefox, but you left out what will probably be the two biggest alternatives (Opera and Konq).

Mozilla Firefox, because it works. Konqueror seems to be slow for me (I don't use KDE anyway), and I stopped using Gnome several months ago, but I might go back sometime...

Mozilla's too big for me.
I've heard of Galeon, but never got around to figuring out how to use it...
I used to use Epiphany sometimes back when I still used Gnome. I sort of liked it because of its simplicity...
I sort of stopped using Netscape when I switched to Linux and found Mozilla, then Mozilla Firebird, then Mozilla Firefox...
I used Opera with Windows some time ago, but stopped when I found Firebird/Firefox...
Isn't Amaya really old? At any rate, I don't use it...

Does anyone here still use Mosaic? That'd be surprising... 8O

mozilla 1.7 here, switched from firefox.

USE="-irc -mail -all that crap"

imo mozilla 1.7 has become at least as fast, as firefox..

Amaya is the W3C's browser/editor. I'm considering using it for a few things, since it natively supports SVG and MathML, among other things.

Firefox + Thunderbird, w/o question. (IE @ school  )

(I'd use Mozilla SeeMonkey (the suite), but I like the fact that I can configure the e-mail and browser aspects seperately and much more than the suite.

On my GNOME based Linux desktop I primarily use Epiphany mostly because it integrates more tightly with [the look of] GNOME than most other things. Epiphany also feels quite a bit more responsive than Firefox, perhaps since it's just plain GTK+2 and not that weird XUL crap. :P

Firefox on everything else if I have the option. I'll usually even download a copy of Firefox onto a public computer if it'll let me write to the desk. Of course, I delete it after I'm done using it though.

Konquror for most things.
Mozy for non KDE desktop.
IE for making sure my web work doesn't look like a pile of bugs.
Lynx when I do research. It is rather fast.

Mozilla is way to big and slow. Opera all the way, its fast as hell, and a lot of very nice skins are available for it. Links/lynx are also acceptable when in CLI.

Firefox - for the simplicity when it starts and for all the great plugins that you can add to it. I especially like quick notes and session saver.

Well they paid better than the other options I had at the time. But they eventually screwed me.

So allow me to say the following:
Code:
YOU HAVE BAD VIRUS.
TAKE PC-CILLIN NOW!
DEATH TO MICROSOFT!

DEATH TO SCO!

TORVALDS IS GREAT!

right now Mozilla 1.6, just the browser (I have xchat and evolution for the rest). I'd use firefox, but I haven't been able to find a decent build of it for amd64...hell, Mozilla isn't even an x86_64 build. How is epiphany? I've recently switched to Gnome, since all my favorite apps are GTK or GTK2. Fuck it, I'll just try it and if I don't like it, I'll remove it.

Firefox, cause it never failed me and works like a charm.

Not a resource-hog like mozilla, plenty of useful plugins, and fast!
