|
|
I followed the instructions post here to create a bootsplash script, but when this script was executed, it automatically froze when setting frame buffer start the script.
I tried to delete "bootsplash = silent" as follow:
"kernel /boot/vmlinuz-splash ro root=/dev/hda5 video=vesa:1024x768@72 vga=0x317 initrd (hd0,4)/initrd.1024"
But it didn't work either. _________________ I think, therefore I am! |

linuxsir it is could be from your kernel config....in your kernel config just open those
Quote: | Code maturity level options --->
[*] Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers
Processor type and features --->
[*] MTRR (Memory Type Range Register) support
Block Devices ->
[*] Loopback device support
[*] RAM disk support
(4096) Default RAM disk size
[*] Initial RAM disk (initrd) support
Console Drivers ->
[*] VGA text console
[*] Video mode selection support
Console Drivers -> Frame-buffer support ->
[*] Support for frame buffer devices
[*] VESA VGA graphics console
[*] Use splash screen instead of boot logo
|
i mean in menuconfig and check if your kernel is patched |

I have followed the aboved instruction, but it still can not work
the kernel setting is right.
my kernel is gentoo-2.4.20-r6
bootsplash version is 0.6-r14
and I have tried the initrd contianed in the gentoo 1.4 liveCd , it didn't work either.
the boot process stoped at runing /etc/runlevel/default/bootsplash |
