sorry for my very n00b questions, but I like keepin ya all busy
ok, how do i take a screenshot so i can send someone a picture of my desktop?

If using Gnome, press "Print Screen" or open Actions and select "Take Screenshot".
When taking a screenshot, you will be prompted where to save the screenshot (as a .png). |

i am using KDE 3.2.2 (sorry i didnt specify earlier). And the PrintScreen button does nothing. |

In the KDE menu try going Graphics -> More Programs -> KSnapshot.
It may not be under the More Programs, it depends how many programs you've got installed.
