I am building a secondary 32bits bootable install for my amd64 laptop. I am running gentoo-development-sources-2.6.5-r1
But everytime i modprobe nvidia it crashes with no error. Just crashes.
Although nvidia is working well in my other 64 bits install.
Error seems reported here:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=26575
Reason seem to be is because i have a stepping 10 cpu as "cat /proc/cpuinfo" shows.
I even have tried to emerge these super new nvidia drivers with no success:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=154810&highlight=nvidia+5341+howto
Any of you with the same problem? Any solution apart from waiting for newer nvidia drivers? _________________ Entropy rulz world.

I have the same problem. Can't play my games for now, to my regrets I have to boot Win2k again to play Warcraft III...
However, does it make sense to start another thread about the same problem on his forum as on the nvnews forum? |
