I'm trying to run chroot from my working gentoo environment (not on install) and I always get the following error:
Code:

chroot: /bin/bash: No such file or directory

I get this when trying to chroot anywhere. /bin/bash exists:
Code:

# ls -l /bin/bash
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       784488 Apr 14 04:58 /bin/bash

Thanks for any help.[/code]

EDIT: Solved. See bottom post.

Did you remeber to mount the partition? I forgot that one once, and got the same error.

Solved. /bin/bash and its deps must exist within the new root, not just in your current tree.

So exactly what files did you need to copy? I've gos bin/* and sbin/* and the chroot still won't work.

[edit] /lib/* ! [/edit]
