Ok,
I have spent some time on this and I have had it. So now I turn to some one that is smarter or more experienced. you choose which one you are.
I followed the Desktop configuration guide that Gentoo provides to setup a simple little mail server. And in the past on RedHat I was able to get postfix courier-imap and squirrelmail working just fine..... but not is this case.
So if you have some insight to helping me or have a system using these tools setup please reply.
I can use mailx to send to other people so I know postfix is partly configured right. But I cannot send via mailx even to mailboxes on the same machine? As well squirrelmail does not let me send mail period.
As well it appears courier-imap is working just fine. I can telnet to port 143 just fine.
