after much attempt, i managed to get my network driver up using iwconfig wlan0 commands in konsole. however, after reboot, my pc just forget my configuration and i need to retype
iwconfig wlan0 essid ' xxxxx "
iwconfig wlan0 mode Manged
iwconfig wlan0 key xxxxxxxxxxx
iwconfig wlan0 rate 11M
iwconfig wlan0 rate auto
ifconfig wlan0 up
pump -i wlan0
to get my network up again..
is there a way to get it done automatically after every reboot??
btw, i am using linksys usb adapter and running on gentoo 2.6.5 kernel & using genkernel when i build my kernel.
i had emege net-wireless/wireless-config-0.4.4.ebuild and changed the configuration in /etc/conf.d/wireless but how do i go about loading it after every reboot??

I found a guide here on the forums to get my wireless card working on my laptop. It's worked pretty well so far. Just follow the instructions in the posting, and you shouldn't have to manually set up your card any more. The guide is at:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=122435&highlight=wireless+networking+script
Hope this helps.
PS - quick search is your friend on the forums... I looked this up via 'wireless networking script'. |
