Does anyone know how to disable some of the event sounds in Gnome without diabling the whole thing? I can't see any option to simply not play a sound for certain events, and when I leave the sound-file field blank it just automatically adds in what was in there before. |

Did you see
Apps -> Desktop Prefs -> Sound -> Sound Events? |

Yes, but, as I said in my original post, I don't want to turn off all the sounds, just the sounds for certain events. |

you need to edit the .soundlist files in /etc/sound/events, for some crazy reason the sound properties applet doesnt let you delete the values. maybe this warrants a bug report?
