Hi,
I have an ethernet WLAN access point running and I've got my laptop's WLAN stuff working, but there's something I still dislike. Currently, I have a script which shuts down eth0 (= regular 100mbps ethernet), sets up eth1 (=11 mbps WLAN) and corrects routing table/firewalling entries if I want to disconnect the laptop from cable and use wlan. But I feel it's not the nicest way to do this. What I really liked is a method which automagically switches everything to cable ethernet if I have it plugged in, and if I unplug the cable the whole laptop should switch to WLAN immediately. Is there a mechanism for such automation, maybe using ping every second to see if the eth0 is still there? Or is there only the manual way? I don't want to invent the wheel a second time, possibly there's a package or something for such things out there already
Your help is appreciated,
