Hi all there.
I hail from Spain so forfeit my english .
Ok. I'm running a 2.6.1-gentoo-r1 kernel, with X.org and the direct rendering with a Radeon 7000 just WONT work!
Before upgrading to a 2.6 series kernel, i was running a 2.4.22 and the direct rendering just worked fine. The packages associated was emerged with the following command:
Code: | VIDEO_CARDS="radeon" emerge xfree-drm |
But, I decided to change to X.org and to Kernel-2.6.1-gentoo-r1 and I can't make this thing work. I'm currently using a 1280 x 1024 resolution. And here is the pathetic result of an glxgears.
Code: | flaab@gentoo flaab $ glxgears
libGL error: failed to open DRM: Operation not permitted
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
1033 frames in 5.0 seconds = 206.600 FPS |
As U can see the result is highly annoying! So on, games like quake3 go STREMELY sloooooow.
So...Here is my question. Can anyone tell me or let my know about a post abour how to get in work a RADEON7000 (package xfree-drm originally, NOT ati-drivers), with Xorg and a 2.6.1-gentoo-r1 kernel??
As plus information, I have done already opengl-update xorg and so on. And I also have the loaded the glx and dri modules in the new xorg.conf.
Any Ideas? Thank U all. ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ [ _Flaab_0n ]
