dear,

i use genkernel on my laptop and do USE="-X" emerge pcmcia-cs as described in chpt 8, finish off the other stuffs and reboot, however, can't bring the network up.

I realised when the LiveCD boots, it has pcmcia_core using axnet_cs ds & i82365. However when i try to modprobe in my non-LiveCD boot up, it can't find the modules at all. Did i miss any step in building up the system !?

Also i notice that when i shut down the system, the cardmgr also complains that axnet_cs not found, any hint, please

while building kernel (`make menuconfig`), enable pcmcia bus, select modules axnet_cs and i82365, then do `make modules modules_install`.

`genkernel --help` should give you some hints about how to enable "menuconfig" step of kernel build. but manual way is always better ;-)
