I've been trying to figure out why I can't a WLAN with 128bit wep to work for some time now, going mad... Looked at just about every post, configuration, suggestion with no avail.
Kernel modules and PCMCIA is fine, get orinoco and orinoco_cs modules loaded when the card is initialized along with all the other PCMCIA modules.
I can connect to AP's with the "any" ESSID (actually connecting to one of my neighbor's AP and get an IP, don't even need to leave my house to wardrive) but when I try to connect to my AP with wep it fails. Entered my ESSID and key with iwconfig (even entered the settings in /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts) and try to restart net.eth1 and of course cannot get an IP from my AP. Though I cannot set the ap mac address.
If anyone has some insight on what I am doing incorrectly I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW, I am at work and can't send the /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts file, will do if needed. _________________ Everytime you start your SUV god clubs a seal.

It was the AP the whole time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I reconfigured it (with the same settings I had before) and now all is well.
BTW, anyone know why I have to disable eth0 in order to for eth1 (WLAN) to work? Something in the routing table makes eth1 always search through eth0. _________________ Everytime you start your SUV god clubs a seal. |
