Ongoing hpoj problems

OK, right up front, this is more of a gripe than anything else. Hence the low amount of detail, and no real expectations of an answer.

I have one of those HP all-in-ones, the 6110xi. It does, on some occaisions, work perfectly with Gentoo. Prints, scans, etc. When it works I like it.

It seems like whenever I do an emerge -u world, no matter what I update, I lose the ability to scan. Printing always seems to work. I don't scan alot, so sometimes I don't notice for awhile. When I do, I spend a couple of days messing with hpoj and hpijs, and eventually it works again ... until the next time.

Does anyone else have this sort of problem? I suppose its the emerge world, but I like to keep current.

I have the same problem. But I have never been able to scan yet. If i find a solution, I will post it.
