I've seen that Gentoo has so many games to emerge even commercial ones.
How does it works the license for games like (ut2004, soldier of fortune, heavy metal...) they are only a demo or they are complete?
Thanx

It's not the games, that's for sure.

Portage is only an installer and its keeping track of what you've installed on your system. That's how I've understood it.

No, I'd think it tries to install and asks for the cd.

However: if you'd like to play the demo, you can emerge 'ut2004-demo'.

ut2004 is just a demo but you can emerge games such as enemy territory which are full games this game consists on a return to castle wolfenstein free mod like counterstrike, though i'm not sure if soldier of fortune is the full game

some of the ebuilds like quake3 for example you need the original cd to copy the data files (pak0.pk3 on quake3) so there's no piracy involved if that's what you're thinking??.
I think it's the same for most of the commercial games. There are a few complete free games like americas-army, rtcw-et etc. There are also game demos ebuilds in portage :D

also ut2004 and ut2003 have installers on the cd/dvd

Taking quake3 for example I think all it does it downloads the latest point-release and installs it. Then you can copy the pak0.pk3 and any mods in as and when u want (there are also ebuilds for some mods). I have my quake3 installed in my home dir atm and it was done in basically the same way.

Thats one of the things I love with Carmack. The patches and the install on the original CD is only the game engine, while the rest (pak0,pk3) is the textures and maps.

That installation method works in windows aswell, just install the latest point release and copy the pak0.pk3 into the install directory.
