Hi Folks,
i'm currently reinstalling a gentoo box. I'm trying out the new 2004.1 small install in conjunction with stage1.
It seems that the boot-kernel "gentoo" has been compiled with the reiserfs-debug option. This might slow down the install process in some ways.
regards,
ferdy |

I doubt anyone would notice the difference. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

Well, I do. Mounting a ReiserFS partition takes three times as long, and normal I/O about two times. |

I've just done a stage1 install this morning with the 2004.1 minimal install.
If it does slow it down, I'd like to see the benchmarks! It is certainly not noticable (at least not to me anyway). I've also done two 2004 stage1 installs this week and really, there is no difference.
