I would like to duplicate the configuration (.config and modules) of the 2.6 smp kernel used on the latest LiveCD. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it. Could someone point me in the right direction?
I am having trouble with a 2.6.x kernel that I have built and since I don't have this trouble with the smp kernel that you can select when you boot the LiveCD, I would like to start by building a kernel with that configuration and then modifying it from there to suit my needs.
Thank you!

Thank you. I realized the silliness of my question shortly after I posted. I was assuming that genkernel only worked with one particular 2.4 kernel but I see from the handbook that genkernel is designed to work with any of the kernel sources. I have a genkernel 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 (gentoo-dev-sources) build occuring as I type this. |
