I was merrily "emerge world -uD " and sfter a KDE crash or 2 and a couple of iso DLs I ran disk space The long and the short of it is that my ~/.xfce4/settings/xfce-settings.xml is empty. Could somebody post the contents of thiers.

Thanks with out it you dont have a backdrop and your taskbar doesnt show anything but grey. Borign Boring
